Back Pain

Introduction

According to the CDC, 1 in 3 Americans over the age of 18 is dealing with back or neck pain. That is a big number! For those who are dealing with this pain, however, it is a horrible burden and impediment to one’s daily routine. The most common types of back pain include neck pain, upper back pain, and lower back pain. The treatments to these kinds of pain vary, depending on how the pain originated and your physiology. Our team is highly trained in the diagnosis, treatment, and caring for such pains. We will explain to you where exactly the pain is coming from, and exactly how we plan to treat it, so that you can get back to living pain-free.

Causes of Back Pain

Back pain is one of the leading causes of disability in the United States, and often goes untreated. In its simplest form, pain is just the accumulation of inflammation in the body. Back pain can originate from the physiology of the vertebrae, nerves, and intervertebral discs in the back. Some common causes of injury to these areas can be lifting heavy objects with the back, twisting and turning suddenly, or strenuous activities. This could be the result of a car accident, lifting heavy objects in the workplace every day, or even a hard fall. This can result in conditions such as entrapment syndrome, facet syndrome, lumbago, or a herniated disc. No matter the pain, our experienced BACAS team will diagnose and treat your pain effectively.

Treatments of Back Pain

At BACAS, we believe in the whole person. We believe that it is a mistake for health care providers to focus so intently on the minute aspect of their particular specialty that they neglect the real objective, which is a vibrant healthy life for the patient.  To this end we have created a process for patient evaluation and management that enables us to identify and treat a patient’s pain generator more effectively. We will identify your unique sources of pain, and provide a customized plan of care to treat your pain effectively.
