BACAS Pain Management Process

Your BACAS experience will begin with an initial consultation. On your first visit to one or our convienent office locations you will need to fill out some initial paperwork detailing your past medical history and current complaints. This paperwork can, however, be downloaded from our website and filled out prior to your first visit in order to speed things along. If you have had prior diagnostic testing pertinent to your current condition it will be helpful for you to have those available at our initial consultation. After filling out your paperwork, you will be escorted to a patient evaluation room where you will be interviewed by a BACAS clinical assistant, who will gather some additional initial information for the physician. Once this has been accomplished the doctor will come in and ask some additional questions and perform a thorough physical examination. Often times additional diagnostic testing may need to be performed before a diagnosis or treatment plan can be formed. If this is the case these tests will be ordered and a consultation scheduled in order to go over these results and discuss the plan of action to address those specific issues. Your initial BACAS consultation is likely to be the most lengthy of the visits you will have with us, simply due to the fact that our staff and physicians take the time necessary to listen to your concerns and to make an accurate diagnosis and treatment plan. This insures that the quality of your pain care is impeccable and that your outcomes as successful as possible.

Our Path to Successful Pain Treatment

Successful treatment begins with an accurate diagnosis of the pain generating issue. This process begins at the initial consultation. If necessary pain medication may be prescribed in order to make you more comfortable while a more aggressive plan is initiated. However, at BACAS we take both a medicinal and a procedural approach to pain management. We look for specific aspects of a painful condition that can be addressed with a variety of invasive pain management techniques. Our objective is to address the pain at its source, rather than simply cover the pain with narcotic pain medication.

At BACAS we treat the whole person. When treating your painful symptoms, we strive to keep your overall health and wellbeing in perspective. We hope that this leads to a long term relationship however, we also hope that it does not lead to long term care. In other words, we want to find a solution to your painful condition. Our goal would be to completely eliminate your pain, and design our treatment plans to that end. If that is not possible, then our objective is to address your long term chronic pain condition in a healthy responsible fashion.
