Individualized Musculoskeletal Evaluation
Overview:
A critical component of our program is the musculoskeletal evaluation. Over time, our bodies wear and tear impacting our daily activity, physical fitness and long-term health. As a result of this evaluation, we are able to pinpoint signs of muscular asymmetry, joint damage and abnormal stress planes on the body.
At BACAS, we have the technology to identify joint and muscle damage in their earliest stages. With this knowledge we can make intelligent recommendations to individuals about the
types of exercises they should do – and more importantly NOT do.
Objective:
Address the body’s physical limitations and determine corrective treatment to prevent further or future injury.
In some instances, we will identify individuals whose injuries require corrective treatment. In these instances, we will not allow him/her to risk further injury by participating in an exercise or fitness program. Instead, we will refer him/her to our treatment program for non-surgical repair of the injured area. Once repaired and healed, he/she will be cleared to participate in a specialized exercise program.
Ways this differs from what exists today . . .
Traditional wellness programs offer the blind application of an exercise program to an unknown audience. Not only is this ineffective, it is also dangerous and should no longer be accepted. Our science-based interaction provides the strong incentives needed to make people become long-term participants and ultimately better stewards of their health.
Goals:
- Identify any adverse musculoskeletal condition
- Diagnose and perform corrective treatment to prevent future injury or long-term effects
- Understand the areas that need strengthening
- Build strength and muscle
